Montgomery sets special events to celebrate 175th
Cake served Monday; slide show Tuesday

The Village of Montgomery will be celebrating the 175th anniversary of its founding in 2010 and a full year of events is planned.

The kick-off event will be held next Monday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Montgomery Village Hall, located at 200 N. River Street. Cake and coffee will be served and a slide show of historic photos will be presented. Everyone is invited to come and wish Montgomery a happy birthday.

Throughout 2010, there will be a presentation related to Montgomery 's history at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Montgomery Village Hall. The Jan. 12 event will feature a slide show of historic photos of Montgomery and its early residents, including images from rare glass negatives dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s. There is no charge for these events.
